A BIG ole' thank you (GIVEAWAY)

Hello my sweet bloggie friends! How is your week going so far? I've got my weigh in tomorrow morning - I've been doing beautifully this week, so I hope I'll at least get back down to where I was 2 weeks ago before I started gaining...we shall see!

First on the agenda today, I have to give a big HOLLA and thank you to Greta at Big Bottom Blogger and Sandra at My Travels to Becoming a Better Me! - they both awarded me the "Superior Scribbler Award"! Thank you both so very much - it meant so much to me to get that award from each of you.

The Rules & Regulations are as follows:

-Each Superior Scribbler must in turn pass the award on to five most deserving bloggers.

-Each Superior Scribbler must link to the author and the name of the blog from whom s/he has received the award.

-Each Superior Scribbler must display the award on his/her blog, and link to The Scholastic Scribe, which explains the award.

-Each blogger who wins The Superior Scribbler Award must visit this post and add his/her name to the Mr Linky List. That way, they'll be able to keep up-to-date on everyone who receives this prestigious honour. http://scholastic-scribe.blogspot.com/2008/10/200-this-blings-for-you.html

-Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.

Such stringent rules - best not to break them! Therefore, I'd like to bestow this award on the following bloggers (which only represent just a sprinkling of the terrific blogs out there):

  1. YumYucky! - Her avatars on Twitter are hysterical, and her blog is even better! I love her reviews and sense of humor.
  2. Rachel at Body by Pizza! - I just love her honesty and humor. She's very supportive as well.
  3. Tammy at From Fat to Fab! - Tammy is an inspiration, her posts are honest and thoughtful.
  4. Tiffany at From 12 to 6! - Tiffany is honest and shows her struggles, but she keeps going and shows that this can be done, no matter what obstacles are in your way. (And she just happens to be having a giveaway today, too!)
  5. Fat[Free]Me! - The woman has lost 81 pounds!!! More inspiration than you can handle at this blog.
Okay! Whew - that was hard!

Now, on to the goodies! After the wonderful response and support I received from you all on Sunday, I wanted to give something back.

The winner of this giveaway will receive the following two books!

I'll be doing proper reviews of both these books next week, but since I'm giving them away, you can assume that I liked them! :-)

Here's how to win - you can get 4 chances!

1. Leave a comment here, and answer the following question: "What is the one Thanksgiving dish that you MUST have every year?"
2. Add this blog to your blogroll, and come back and leave another comment letting me know. (If I'm already on your blogroll, that counts, too).
3. Follow me on twitter (@jennifernobile), leave another comment telling me so. (If you already follow me on Twitter, that counts, too!)
4. Write a blog post promoting this giveaway, and leave another comment with the link to your post.

Make sure you leave a separate comment for each entry. This contest is open to EVERYONE - all countries, all time zones.

LEGAL SHTUFF: I was in no way compensated for reading, reviewing or giving these books away. Jillian Michaels has no idea I'm doing this - I simply LOVE you guys, and wanted to give back something to this wonderful community.

All entries must be received no later than Tuesday, November 24 at 11PM EST. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, November 25th.

Okay, that's it - good luck to everyone!!!

It's a family tradition to make a certain fruit salad (Pistachio Fruit Salad) for Thanksgiving. It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving without it, so I always take it with me if I'm having Thanksgiving somewhere other than at my parents house (I live on the east coast and they live on the west coast so it's not always possible to get together).

I have to have sweet potatoes! I just love them!

You are also on my blogroll! Of course you have been forever lol!

Pumpkin pie is a must! I have re-vamped my sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and veggies into healthy dishes, but the pumpkin pie must be the original-don't mess with the recipe-pie :) (of course I only have 1 small piece now and I savor every bite)

what a great give a way Jenn! I started using the biggest loser cardio dvd this week and Jillian is kicking my butt off :)

Is there a Thanksgiving dish I don't love? Turkey, mashed potatos, yams, corn, green bean casserole, my mom's stuffing (one of the only foods she makes well!), you name it, I love it and I love the leftovers too! This year I'm going to go ahead and eat on Thanksgiving Day but I'm going to go right back on plan the next day. I'm also run/walking a 4 mile race that morning so hopefully it evens out a bit.

Thanks for doing the giveaway! It's so neat you can do things like that!

It would have to be mashed potaoes with corn flakes on top...YUM!

I always have to make my (late) Mother's pecan filling.

This year I plan to try a new improved green bean casserole. Found it online somewhere (called Make ahead fresh green bean casserole). It should be much healthier and much tastier to my 'new' palate. Fresh green beans, and fresh mushrooms.

Last year I made absolutely plain sweet potatoes instead of the usual loaded sweet potato casserole. Um, nobody really ate them. Well, at least I tried to be nutritionally aware.
This year I will bring back the casserole, but slightly modded, and I don't have to have much or any...and it IS only once a year. :)

"What is the one Thanksgiving dish that you MUST have every year?"

Being Canadian, we had ours last month, but the one dish on the table that never changes is Carrot/Turnip Mash (we call it "bashneeps"). Nowadays it doesn't have the pound of butter melted in it, but they don't even notice!

Shhhh said...

I am now a follower! (really cuz if you love JM you MUST be as wonderful as me, ROFL)

However, I'm following you under my alias. (stupid wordpress doesn't have followers)

gettingandstayinghealthy said...

Aaaaand to prove WHAT a JM freak I am, I also posted about this on my blog. Although, I don't want to drive traffic here. Would mess with my odds of winning.

LOL

Now if I only had twitter.... *taps teeth*
